Located in central Nepal, this is the country's most popular rafting and kayaking river. Legend says that in the Himalaya at Gosainkunda, in the Langtang region, the god Shiva drove his trident into the ground and created three springs. These springs join to start the Trisuli river.
The wildlife is varied and many birds can be observed, from the tiny kingfisher to mighty kites and vultures. Any Trisuli trip is ideal for beginners to find their "rafting legs".
One of the ancient trade routes to Tibet, the Kali Gandaki rises in upper Mustang. With lush green vegetation and an abundance of wildlife this trip is a scenic, thrilling roller -coaster ride from start to finish and comes highly recommended for those seeking true excitement. There are only few other river-runners as the rivers go down through a jungle corridor, home to more than 250 species of wild birds. Fresh water dolphins and mugger and gharial crocodiles can be seen.

At the right flow it's an incredible combination of white water, scenery, villages, and truly quiet and introspective evenings on huge sandy beaches along what many people consider to be one of the world's 10 classic river journeys.
